Saltmine and our partners have been investing in the Blue House Care Centre in Sliven Bulgaria since the summer of 2003, and much progress has been made. Thanks to the generosity of many, well over £100,000 has already been given to this exciting project which will provide a day hospice, hostel accommodation and training for young people leaving the local children’s homes, plus provide supervision for all of the aid work throughout the region. A vital facility!

Foundations On Rock!

“I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.” - Luke 6

Building renovations at the Blue House Hospice & Care Centre in Sliven, Bulgaria are rapidly approaching completion, and at Saltmine we believe that this whole exciting venture is firmly built on the right foundations! It has taken three years to reach this stage where we can now look forward to seeing a fully open facility.

“JOIN OUR GROUP OF 100”

For some time, there have been two community nurses, Radhus & Pepa, operating from the centre providing rehabilitation in the home for stroke and accident victims.

Hristina, the former Director of Social Services in Sliven, coordinates social aid and benefit advice for the vulnerable, many aid shipments from the UK have been processed through the Blue House by Director Genka, who has also jointly hosted numerous visiting mission teams with our partners at Sliven Baptist Church.
