Welcome to our prayer update.  We will be using this page to keep you updated every couple of months as to the particular prayer needs of our organisation. We see this as an excellent way of keeping in touch with as many of you as possible in a simple and effective way.

Update April/May 2008

Praise

Praise God for a safe and fruitful Red Balloon trip to Tanzania. They were working with a children’s ministry helping to run a 4 day children’s crusade and visiting local schools. Praise God that over 400 people (90% being children) became Christians during their time there and continue to pray for their follow up.

Please continue to praise God for safety in travel. Many hundreds of miles were travelled over the Christmas period with the Christmas presentations. Please continue to pray for the impact these shows had on the audiences that attended.

Praise God for the high standard of the 300 acts that auditioned for Hope Academy. Please continue to pray for those who won and move forward to the London final on the 10^th May. Also pray for all those who took part that they will continue to use and develop their God given gifts.

Praise God for the impact of the Rebekka tour. The Theatre Company in association with Open Doors toured the country with a production of Rebekka. Written by David Robinson it tells the story of the three Indonesian women who were imprisoned for running a Sunday School and how God intervened.

Prayer

Please pray for the five people who are running the London Marathon on 13^th April to raise money for Saltmine projects.

Over the next few months Slingshot and Red Balloon Theatre companies are touring local schools with the Hope play. In conjunction with a local church the theatre company will visit primary schools close to that church to perform the play and invite them to an event at the church at the end of the week. The Hope play takes the story of Joseph and looks at trusting God in bad situations and having hope. Please pray for the impact of this production.

Also the next few months sees Slingshot and Red Balloon touring local schools with the Escape play. This play, commissioned by Dudley Borough Council, looks at the whole issue of internet safety and children. Please again pray for the impact of this production.

Saltmine Theatre Company has a few performances of When I’m Calling You in May prior to the next major tour of The Cross and the Switchblade running from 26^th May to 5^th July. Please pray for these productions including the rehearsal, technicians, travelling and audience
