Once Giant Leap

Moses, is a man troubled by his own speech impediment and his complete lack of self-belief, but a character chosen to face up to the mighty King of the Egyptians, Pharaoh.  In the high-energy exchange which follows, can the confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh free the Hebrew slaves and save a nation?

David is a shepherd boy who finds himself at the centre of the Israelites’ battle against the potent Philistines.  Those around him laugh at the thought of him defeating the powerful Goliath and even the King doubts David’s capabilities but does David have a secret weapon up his sleeve?

One Giant Leap aims to raise self-esteem, build confidence and encourage children to realise their potential. Using vibrant and creative story-telling theatre, Red Balloon explore the tales of Moses and David who, with a bit of encouragement and self-belief, go on to beat their ‘giants’ and do amazing things.  This energetic performance will have children of all ages fully involved and will take them to the heights of their imagination. Once seen, never forgotten.

Sticks and Stones

This powerful production was commissioned by YMCA Norfolk in 2002 to tackle some of the issues of bullying amongst year 6 children in schools around Norwich.  Now expanded to cover years 6-9, it aims to provide a safe environment for bullying “victims” to confront issues and to encourage “bullies” to see the error of their ways.  The production addresses some of the issues faced by pupils, teachers and parents and, through fun, interactive theatre, aims to start putting a stop to bullying.

Building on the success and experience of early tours, the production has been expanded to include workshops concentrating specifically on “victims” and “bullies” addressing issues such as self-esteem and self-worth.  Ongoing follow-up sessions with the school are arranged to continue to address these vital concerns.

This production is produced in partnership with YMCA Norfolk and is only available through them
